Nike Graphic Studio Art Show "Outside the Box" for Girl Effect | October 15, 2012

Oct 15, 2012

Last weekend I visited the Nike Graphic Studio for its third charity art show, titled "Outside the Box," in Portland, Oregon, showcasing a new collection of work from some of Nike's most talented artists. The art show proceeds went to "The Girl Effect," a Nike Foundation-backed movement to support adolescent girls worldwide. While the show was part of the just-concluded, Design Week Portland, "Outside the Box" will remain on display until Oct. 31.

KINFOLK + NIKE "TIED TOGETHER" RELAY BIKE EVENT

Jun 22, 2010

+ japan’s kinfolk is a rare bicycle company that creates handmade products whose aesthetic is classic yet modern and most importantly timeless. The minds of the creators, akira, john, maceo, ryan and, salah, all loved bikes so much their goal was never to be the biggest bike company or to get rich, or anything like that. They only wanted these special bikes and figured maybe the public would to. for nike stadium tokyo’s recent “tied together” exhibition, kinfolk has worked with frantic studio to create a small documentary which tells the story of the journey of a kinfolk bicycle, all the way from kusaka’s workshop in akashi, japan, to chari & co. on the lower east side in n.y.c.

FRANK RUDY INVENTED THE HEART OF NIKE AIRS

Dec 27, 2009

Marion Franklin Rudy
1925 - 2009

"Rudy was an aerospace engineer who left the industry in 1969 to pursue a career as an independent inventor who ended up with more than 250 patents. He is credited with inventing the Nike Air shoe cushioning system in the late 1970s. Rudy and Nike's early Air Sole technology was first built into a running shoe in 1979, and the bags were laid into a basketball and tennis shoe three years later." He was truly an engineer that made in impact, especially for Nike, in everything he created. Someday I hope to do the same. Via OregonLiveNews

CASSETTE PLAYA FINAL NIKE DUNK DESIGN

Sep 22, 2009

Nike Sportswear’s Holiday 2009 Collection (already released overseas)

WHAT: Nike x Cassette Playa Dunk Hi Premium
COLORS: Black/Black-Sport Red-Orion Blue
STYLE: #306968-005
RELEASING: Holiday 09

I'd have to say these look a lot more like Cassette Playas 'style' then the original colorway designed by C.P. These have a nice clean orange midsole and I like the clear swoosh idea. Of course great details are all over the shoe including C.P. logo on the tongue of the shoe. Can't wait till these drop in this Holiday.

ERIC KOSTON'S NIKE SB DUNK LOW COLORWAY???

Aug 22, 2009

This leaked out on the Internet and is supposedly Eric Koston's Nike SB colorway. This seems very likely but still may just be a promo, as Nike SB has been known to change or cancel colorways in the past. Either way I'm still excited that Koston has signed with NSB and can't wait to cop his own colorway (they should just give him is own signature shoe like P-Rod and S. Janoski)
