+ japan’s kinfolk is a rare bicycle company that creates handmade products whose aesthetic is classic yet modern and most importantly timeless. The minds of the creators, akira, john, maceo, ryan and, salah, all loved bikes so much their goal was never to be the biggest bike company or to get rich, or anything like that. They only wanted these special bikes and figured maybe the public would to. for nike stadium tokyo’s recent “tied together” exhibition, kinfolk has worked with frantic studio to create a small documentary which tells the story of the journey of a kinfolk bicycle, all the way from kusaka’s workshop in akashi, japan, to chari & co. on the lower east side in n.y.c.

OAKLEY'S LOVE AND GUTS | EYES WIDE OPEN ART SHOW

+ during the weekend of the maloof money cup, n.y.c. was also hosting oakley's love and guts: eyes wide open art show. there the most recognizable names in skateboarding were in attendance including steve caballero, lance mountain, pat ngoho, don pendelton, chad muska, giovanni reda, and dennis mcnett. the exhibition was dedicated to all the skaters who lost their lives too soon such as n.y.c. legends andy kessler and harold hunter.

Over the weekend I got the opportunity to visit and volunteer at an orphanage for horses. There was a lot of work that needed to be done and although the place needed some fixin up to do, the experience was memorable.

LAN (LOCAL AREA NETWORK). NOW YOU KNOW

Wow this has got to be a record or something. Over in Sweeden there was a huge LAN party. How big you ask? around 10,000 people. The event is called Dreamhack and their winter event is usually the biggest of the year where there are activities such as LAN, film festival, DREAM expo, music concert, lectures, esports, and more. It already took place this year on November 26-29, so if your into this kind of thing plan ahead for next year where the numbers will probably be bigger, so get geeked up EXCELSIOR!!!

Store opened at 11 AM. Got the size I wanted (thank God I have big feet). Got a parking ticket (F the Seattle Po-Po). Just another Saturday morning for a hypebeast

This past weekend at Seattle's Quest Field held two big events. On Saturday was college football where it was WSU vs UH. Basically Washington State University fell behind and the University of Hawaii won 38 - 20. The next day was NFL Sunday as the Seattle Seahawks faced the St. Louis Rams. Happily the Seahawks blew out the Rams 28 - 0. My ears are still banging and my breath still smells like garlic fries it was a great day for NFL Sunday.

As I was skatin around WSU today, I stopped by the Music for Memories concert at Reaney Park. It was a benefit concert to support the Alzheimer's Association Inland Northwest Chapter and was hosted by the charming Chi Delta Sigma Sorority. There was pizza, shaved iced, and raffle tickets for sell, which included gift certificates, xbox games, and rubber duckies to give away. The music was entertaining as well. Cassie Correlle sang her heart out as usually and the band Letters & Lights had there moments on stage.

FAME: the state or quality of being widely honored and acclaimed, favorable public reputation

The FAME Festival is the meeting of a dozen international artists in a small italian centre, Grottaglie. Artists from around the world including Blu (Italy), Jr (France), Mark Jenkins (Usa), Will Barras (Uk), etc,etc. The idea of the whole thing is to host the artists for variable length of time (from 1 to 4 weeks) and to offer them the cooperation of the local artisans for the production of pottery works and limited edition prints.

Furthermore the artists will have at their disposal several walls to paint around the city, in order to upgrade a few areas which are aesthetically depressed.

Opening day is September 19th

DID YOU KNOW? DIRECTOR SPIKE JONZE STARTED AS A SKATEBOARDER TURNED HOLLYWOOD PRODUCER WHEN HE WAS ONLY 19 YRS OLD

As an avid enthusiast of skateboarding films of course i went to the Seattle Skateboard Film Festival opening night at SIFF Cinema. As i first approached the theatre there was a huge black limo all tagged in stickers with bullhorns on the hood; and there was even a red carpet (sorry i forgot to take a picture). The film festival started off by introducing two northwest directors then showed many creative short skate films and ended the night with the main attration of Scott Yamamura’s ‘A Day at the Park‘ film. The festival continued the next day with an awards ceremony for the best films.

That same night my car overheated and my engine tube was leaking. Heres a picture of my car being towed from Seattle all the way back to Tacoma in the middle of the night. All good the festival was worth it

SEATTLE CENTER SKATEPARK OPENING

This ones for Seattle's history books where city officials and Seattle Center staff openly accpeted the creation of a Skatepark on the Seattle Center campus on Juy 11, 2009. A lot of skaters big and small were there for the grand opening. I missed the ribbon cutting but was still there for the contests and prizes
