THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE

Feb 28, 2010

+ The Rainbow Church is designed by Tokujin Yoshioka. It is appox. 8 meters high and made of stained glass with around 500 crystal prisms. As the light hits each prism it fills the church space with rainbow colors. This church was actually inspired by french painter, Henri Matisse, and his Chapelle du Rosaire.

PLEASE DO IT

Feb 8, 2010

+ JDS Architects have proposed an experience where a trampoline net should spiral down the rotunda at New York's Guggenheim Museum. Patrons would be allowed to walk, rest, and play on the net. I'm not sure how safe this concept is, but adding this to the museum would attract more people and add another perspective while viewing the paintings. While waiting for this concept to become reality, on exhibit right now at the Guggenheim Museum are Anish Kapoor: Memory exhibit and Paris and the Avant-Garde paintings.

A NEW TYPE OF WALLPAPER

Dec 14, 2009

There is a company out there that came up with the idea that anything you can paint on should be turned into a dry-erase surface, or any room, into a hub of creativity and collaboration. I like this idea and the company, Idea Paint, is the brains behind it. It looks like they kept three things on their minds where this could be useful, at work, school, and home. I'm guessing it's also fairly easy to install this as shown on their website.

IT'S LIKE THE EPISODE WHEN HOMER ENTERS THE 3D WORLD

Nov 19, 2009

Not sure how long this has been made but somewhere in Henderson, Nevada lies the real life version of The Simpsons house. I grew up with the Simpsons so seeing someone actually replicate the house from the cartoon television show is amazing. There isn't much info of exactly where this house is or even if it is open to the public.

SPINNING SEATS BY NOEL BLAKEMAN

Oct 27, 2009

Noel Blakeman is a sculptor who created this innovative way to save space and allow up to eight people sit down if they need to. Made of stainless steel it has 8 sections and spins 360 degrees. This would probably go well inside of a bar, hotel, or modern living space.

THE MOST AWESOMENESS APARTMENT IN THE GALAXY

Sep 19, 2009

I've seen a few Star Wars collection before but none really compares to this mans collection inside of his apartment. There is not a lot of detail of who he is (maybe its a her) but it took 20 years to build up this awesome set of Star Wars memorabilia. One day I dream my apartment will look like this but instead of Star Wars you'll see walls and walls of fresh kicks haha.

FORGET LEGO LAND WHY NOT LIVE EVERYDAY IN A LEGO HOUSE

Aug 29, 2009

Top Gear presenter James May is building a life sized two story house consisting of LEGO pieces in the middle of the Denbies Wine Estate, in Dorking, UK. So far more than three million pieces have been delivered to this project. This LEGO house is part of his latest toy challenge he undertook as part of his BBC Series, James Mays Toy Challenge. As a LEGO fan myself, when I was younger I remember thinking to myself if anybody could every build a LEGO home, now that someone has taken the challenge I can't wait to see the outcome; to bad its all the way in the UK.
