FUTURA: Future Shock at Valmorbida | September 7, 2012

Sep 7, 2012

"FUTURE SHOCK," is the first New York solo exhibition by FUTURA in over a decade; presented by Andy Valmorbida and curated by Nemo Librizzi. The exhibition opened on September 6, 2012 in collaboration with Bombardier Aerospace, RVCA Artist Network Program and VistaJet. Using large scale wooden boards and canvases, Futura applied layers of both acrylic and spray paint, creating dynamic abstract compositions. If you're not familiar with Futura he is a legendary graffiti artist and usually depicts intangible objects and symbols, which eventually formed into his own alphabet. The new works are still original as he avoided the inclusion of literal objects and repeats singular images throughout his works. Ends on October 5th, 2012 there is still time to go.
