After years of following SF Bay Area native artist Barry McGee, I was able to see his artistic skills in person. While planning my visit to Los Angeles I heard he had a show at the PRISM Gallery till June 30, 2012 so marked my calendar to visit. On my visit I was definitely overwhelmed with the copious amount of McGee's works. The whole gallery, upstairs and downstairs, filled with numerous drawings, paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs of his familiar characters, geometric compositions, color fields, and visual language. One of my new favorite pieces in this exhibit are the collection of surfboards he painted.
